Recently I was watching this video by Michio Kaku on multiverse, time travel used in Marvel cinematic universe popularly known as MCU. And I had a thought in my mind, look how Kaku never says anything with certainty because things are certain only according to something, except for beliefs they are always certain. That’s the difference between people who are seekers of truth and those who just believe. Those who are seekers to them even the knowledge is uncertain, limited. Believing the people about universe who did not even had the ability to make eyeglasses so that many could see properly is preposterous. [That was extremely wrong analogy as well as a gross misuse of logic, people can be extremely intelligent in one domain and can behave stupidly in another domain so this kind of logic doesn’t work here. For example in east, many forms of meditation techniques were developed which are still beyond the scope of science. It is better to admit one’s own mistake timely, that should be the first principle of seeking, I guess.] My point was that we should not just believe, we should also look for evidence. Alas! The world is full of such people, majorly because of politics associated with it and secondly because of lack of thinking ability. Be a seeker of truth, that is a hard life yet the best one.
See I’m not proposing that there is nothing of value in mythology (I’m a huge fan of mythology across different cultures) and religious philosophies (in this case too I like learning different philosophies). There is ancient knowledge on how to live depending on geographical locations on the earth developed by indigenous people over many centuries, most of them know it better than people from other parts, that’s why there is a saying when in Rome do as Romans do. My objection is to just believing something because some person have said it, it may not be the truth. The truth, the absolute truth is true for everyone and everything, it is perception and opinion which changes according to people. It can be your truth because you believe in it, not of everyone else’s.
All the greats in past have wandered for finding the truth, came with some of their theories and understanding about nature and universe some of which are still valid but most of it did not stand the rigorous ground of modern scientific thinking and knowledge. These philosophies are only useful in how to conduct your life in different situations in different places depending on your own personality and that’s it. There is nothing higher or lower about it, they should not be used as the absolute truth. The more people get involved in the process of thinking and seeking, the faster we would as a humanity reach to the truth or may be closer to it. Be a seeker in the search of truth, use your brain and, experience and also of others’ experience because yours is largely limited, to learn and think rather than just believing.
If someone gives you a bundle of money and tells you this is $6000, then what is the first thing you do, you count it but in the matters of universal truth we just believe it, we don’t want to think. I know modern life is hard, everyone is busy in making something out of their life, thinking about future of their families but we should take some time off for thinking and reading beyond our beliefs. Again I repeat this, be a seeker, ask questions, be curious. Otherwise what most humans are actually doing is believing in something or someone and living the rest of their life like other animals, in reality humans sometime behave worse than other animals, in search of food, for procreation and pleasures then we die without thinking deeply in any domain of the life. How do you want to live your life is up to you. In my opinion, BE A SEEKER.
